Kathryn Thomas BSc(Soc.Sci.)Hons (Bradford) PsDip Cert.Open Studies (Bristol) was introduced to the romance of the piano by hearing Rachmaninoff preludes, played on a pianola. This early acquaintance with the work of the Russian master started a musical journey made magical by the nationalism of Chopin, the enchantment of Debussy and, closer to home, the witchery of John Ireland. Kathryn originally studied the piano with Ivy Wilcox. After graduating, she worked in the media in London, before resuming her piano studies with Betty Stubbs and David Kenna while taking further courses in theory, musicianship and music history. When she is not helping with the administration of the practice, Kathryn enjoys drawing, painting and the study of Art History
